HISTORY IN PENTICTON
This Corps was originally formed 4 July 1919 as the Penticton Cadet Corps, and was disbanded 14 Oct 1925. The Corps reformed in 1940, and disbanded in 3 Dec 1947.
1 Oct 1962 C Company of #903 9th Recce Regiment Cadet Corps was redesignated as 788 The British Columbia Dragoons (Penticton) Cadet Corps. A Company was in Vernon (old #1705), and B Coy was in Kelowna (#903). 903 originally formed 4 Dec 1947. #788 was sponsored and affiliated with The British Columbia Dragoons.
Note: Anniversary date changed 1 Aug 1997 to reflect disbandment date of 3 Dec 1947 (CAO 54). Corps files 788, 903 and 1705 were reviewed all together and formation dates amended (for 788: from 4 Dec 1947 to 12 Apr 1940).
