Sponsoring Committee

The Sponsoring Committee's objective is to provide support to the Cadet Corps through involvement and fundraising.  It is also a forum where parents can receive information about the Corps and where the Commanding Officer can maintain regular contact with the parents of the Cadets.

It is comprised of cadet parents and other community members.  Meetings are held on CO's Parade nights which is normally the first Monday night of each month at the cadet hall at 6"30pm.

The chairperson for 2014-2015 is Mrs. Dolly Kruger.

Corps Funding

The Cadet Program is funded by the Department of National Defence in partnership with the Army Cadet League of Canada. Although there are no fees involved in becoming an Army Cadet, it is important to realize that the corps must raise money in order to operate. 788 has a Sponsoring Committee that is responsible for providing much of the funding necessary for the corps activities, equipment and housing. The Committee organizes various fundraising activities throughout the year and cadets are expected to participate in these events.
